-THE WINES OF NEW ZEALAND-
-NEW ZEALAND WHITE WINE-
2010 ALLAN SCOTT, SAUVIGNON BLANC, MARLBOROUGH $14.99 If you enjoy the crisp, clean sauvignon blancs from New Zealand's Marlborough region, then you're a big fan of the work
of Allan Scott, who has been one of the driving forces for quality and innovation in that region for the past 35 years, ever
since he helped plant some of the first vineyards there. The 2010 bottling is a perfect example of Scott's intentional blending
of traditional and modern methods, exercising restraint and minimal interference with his sustainably grown fruit, which is
eventually processed in ultra-modern facilities. Pale green gold, this wine offers gentle notes of herbs, citrus and tropical
fruits, and a bright minerality on the nose. Once in the glass, it opens up to offer citrus and berry flavors along with a
slight herbaceousness. Medium-bodied and balanced with a crisp acidity, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to a wide range
of seafood and salad dishes. Refreshing, clean, and easy drinking. Perfect for the warmer weather, now that it has finally
decided to show up.
