Château Margaux - In The Cellar - Bordeaux, France 1994 ______
FRENCH
WINES (Including Cassis, Vermouth & Cider) ______
-----------------------------------------------------------
REGIONS ARE LISTED ALPHABETICALLY
-----------------------------------------------------------
-ALSACE-
-WHITE WINE- 2007
DOMAINE ROLAND SCHMITT, GEWURZTRAMINER, GLINTZBERG (ORGANIC) $19.99 Aromas of spice (nutmeg & clove) and
some tropical fruit with some minerality. 2007 DOMAINE ROLAND SCHMITT, RIESLING, GLINTZBERG
(ORGANIC) $19.99
-----------------------------------------------------------
-BORDEAUX-
-WHITE WINE-
2008 CHÂTEAU SAINTE MARIE, ENTRE-DEUX-MERS $15.99 This wine is a serious overachiever in the region that has historically been dominated by over-cropped vineyards, huge yields
and chemical viticulture. No pesticides or herbicides are used here and vineyard density is 2-3 times the norm. Plowing of
the soils is a given and the results are evident in the wine. Layers of minerals, sappy texture and crisp acidity follow a
nose that leans towards sauvignon without being vegetal. Skin maceration pre-fermentation helps develop complexity and tension
that is uncommon for the appellation. Citrus and melon dominate the nose with some cut hay. 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon
& 10% Muscadelle grapes. Excellent!
-RED WINE-
2007 CHÂTEAU SAINTE MARIE, BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR $17.99 This family owned property is located in the heart of the Bordeaux winemaking region in Entre-Deux-Mers. The wine is made
from 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc grapes and spends 12 months in small French oak barrels. This
is a rich, full-bodied dry wine with loads of ripe fruit flavors and is soft and smooth on the palate. This is clearly a steal
for red Bordeaux in this price range. Match with red meats or strong cheeses.
2005 CHÂTEAU LESTRILLE-CAPMARTIN,
BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR, CUVÉE PRETIGE $19.99
2005 CHÂTEAU TALBOT, SAINT JULIEN $75.00

2006 DOMAINE CONFURON-COTETIDOT, BOURGOGNE PASSETOUTGRAIN, $18.99 Half Pinot Noir &
half Gamay grapes from Burgundy. Poor mans red Burgundy at its best with just enough stuffing to pair with many a holiday
fare. Red cherry fruit flavors with a very light pepperiness. One glass is just not enough, too inviting.
2006
DOMAINE MANCIAT-PONCET, MÂCON BUSSIÈRES $18.99
2006 CAMUS-BRUCHON, BOURGOGNE $22.99 100%

AGRAPART & FILS, BRUT, BLANC DE

their grapes are hand harvested and they produce just 2000 cases of the "non-vintage brut" per year. This dry Champagne
is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes.
NV AGRAPART & FILS, BRUT, BLANC DE BLANCS, "TERROIRS" $44.99
NV LOUIS ROEDERER, BRUT PREMIER $44.99
Why not splurge a little on this fantastic French Champagne? I concur with Wine Spectator Magazine's review: Delicious.
Smooth and complex, revealing flavors of yeast, berry, ginger and citrus, allied to a firm structure. Ends with a firm, tactile
sensation and an aftertaste of candied citrus. Drink now. 90 Points. NV BOLLINGER, CHAMPAGNE, BRUT, SPECIAL CUVÉE $65.00 1999 BOLLINGER, CHAMPAGNE, BRUT, "LA GRANDE ANNÉE"

25-50 year old vines are farmed organically on the mediterranean shores of the northern Languedoc. Fresh, floral nose with
citrus, melon and some spice. Lively acidity and good minerality follow through on the finish to keep you coming back for
more. Refreshingly unoaked, drink this with any seafood, especially oysters, cheese and lighter fare.
2008 DOMAINE
DU CHÂTEAU, PICPOUL DE PINET, COTEAUX DU LANGUEDOC $10.99
-RED
WINE- 2006 DELAS, MERLOT, "SÉLECTION
DELAS", VIN DE PAYS D'OC $9.99 This is a steal for quality Merlot, highly recommended! 2008 MOULIN DE GASSAC, "GUILHEM", VIN DE PAYS DE L'HERAULT,
(ORGANIC) $11.99 Syrah, Grenache, Carignan & Cinsault grapes from 25-50 year vines grown organically on the windy,
sun soaked shores of the Mediterranean. No oak to meddle with the clean fruit in this charming wine. This is one of the best
dry red wine values in the store, highly recommended! (Organic) 2006 MAS DES BROUSSES, "TERRASSES DU LARZAC", COTEAUX DU LANGUEDOC $19.99 50% Syrah
& 50% Mourvèdre grapes. 2004
LA MADURA, SAINT-CHINIAN, CLASSIC, LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON $17.99 The Saint-Chinian wine appellation is located in Southern
France, inland from Montpellier. I visited this rough and rocky dry region on a wine tour in 1992 when the appellation was
just starting to ramp up their quality. Nadia and Cyril Bourgne make this hearty, dry red wine from 39% Carignan, 30% Grenache,
16% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah grapes. Pair with red meats or lamb.
2005 DOMINE DE LA CASA BLANCA, COLLIOURE

-LOIRE-
-SPARKLING WINE-
BAUMARD, CRÉMANT DE LOIRE,
"CARTE TURQUOISE" $22.99 Made from Chenin Blanc grapes with some Cabernet Franc, this classic Loire Valley
dry sparkling wine is a tasty partner for cold appetizers and pairs wonderfully with chilled oysters. The Baumard estate dates
back to 1634 and they are highly regarded for this special cuvée called "Carte Turquoise". BAUMARD, CRÉMANT DE LOIRE, ROSÉ BRUT EXTRA $29.99 100% Cabernet Franc grapes.
FRANÇOIS CHIDAINE, MONTLOUIS SUR LOIRE BRUT $21.99 François Chidaine
sells out every bottle of wine he makes within just a few months of bottling. Montlouis is just across the river from the
famous Vouvray appellation. This unique sparkling wine is relatively dry, made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes, and would be
just perfect for Sunday brunch.
-WHITE WINE-
2008 CAVE DE SAUMUR, SAUMUR, "LIEU-DITS LES ÉPINATS $9.99 100% Chenin Blanc
grapes. 2008 FRANÇOIS CHIDAINE,
TOURAINE, SAUVIGNON BLANC $12.99 Classic styled Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc from the master of Montlouis and Vouvray.
Most of the fruit comes from Chidaine's biodynamically farmed vineyards while some fruit comes from reliable local sources.
Minerals and citrus are packed into this beauty that shows surprising length and complexity for the appellation. This is a
great lower-priced alternative to the popular sauvignons produced in the eastern Loire Valley.
2008DOMAINE SYLVAIN
BAILLY, QUINCY $16.99 The region of Quincy is also know for Sauvignon Blanc and makes a style which is typically creamier
and softer than the other wines of the region. The Bailly family have been wine-makers in Sancerre from father to son since

with flavors of Grapefruit and minerals. This pungent wine is a great partner for the goat cheeses for which the region is
