-WHITE WINE-
2010 FÂMEGA, VINHO VERDE, AMARANTE $8.99
This
has to be the perfect hot weather wine! Only 9.5% alcohol, the color of water, light-bodied, dry and fruity, and when you
open the bottle it starts to sparkle like crazy. This is the classic white wine of Portugal at its best when extremely fresh.
Bottled in 2011. Only $8.09 per bottle by the case. Highly recommended!
2010 QUINTA
DA AVELEDA, VINHO VERDE $9.99
Bottled
in 2011, fresh, fresh, fresh.
2010 QUINTA DA AVELEDA, ALVARINHO, MINHO $12.99
Just across the Miño/Minho River, which separates Rias Baixas
from Portugal, its neighbor to the south, lies the region of Vinho Verde, where the flagship grape is known as alvarinho.
One of the major producers in the region is Quinta da Aveleda, and their rendition of what is known as the "Queen
of Portugese white grapes" is an intensely aromatic wine, pale green gold in color, that fills with mouth with
flavors of peach and tropical fruits. The wine's soft and silky elegance, accompanied by a restrained 12.5% alcohol
level, gives way to a refreshing finish with hints of lime. If you plan to grill seafood this summer, plan to have
a glass of alvarinho close at hand, and make a good meal great!

Ramos Pinto, founded in 1880, is known for making fine Porto but is most highly regarded for
their Tawny Ports. Their 10 Year Tawny Porto is considered by many to be the best in its class. I recently tasted this wine
and I would have to agree, this is a truly outstanding porto with enormous complexity. Highly recommended after Christmas
dinner or for that special gift. (Gift Box Included)
