This dry red wine is both bold and supple at the same time and will benefit with some age. This is a keeper for the cellar and will show wonderfully in 5 - 8 years. One of the best Cretan red wines that I have tasted so far. Really dark purple in color with very pretty aromas, smooth tannins with dark red fruit flavors, and good acidity. This wine has a wonderful earthiness about it that feels a touch southern French in style, very well done. Hats off to the folks at Lyrarakis for their passion, knowledge and winemaking, this is a taste of a very old Cretan grape, what a treat.
