Classic Xinomavro character, Pinot Noir-like color, great aromatics, red-cherry fruits, and a splash of dry tannins. Very tasty for the price. 100% Xinomavro grapes. 2005 KARYDA, NAOUSSA $27.99 This fantastic dry red wine comes from the Naoussa wine region in northern Greece. The Karydas winery makes just over one thousand cases and is considered to make one of the best wines from the area. Made with 100% Xinomavro grapes, this red wine is dry, tannic and bold and can improve with bottle age. This is a great example of Naoussa. 2007 THIMIOPOULOS, "URANOS", TRILOFOS, IMATHEIA $32.99 100% Xinomavro grapes from Macedonia. This is only the third vintage of this wine and what a winner. This is a modern version of the Xinomavro grape, unlike the traditional rustic style, and shows outstanding aromas and flavors. I can only assume that this wine will age wonderfully for at least a few years but is just too delicious right now.
